Xanthan Gum is a polysaccharide used as thickening agent, emulsifier, stabilizer. It is EU approved food ingredient with EU Code E415. Xanthan Gum is available in 2 mesh sizes – 80 mesh and 200 mesh. 200 mesh is the finer and more common grade used across industry.
Xanthan Gum is a high molecular weight anionic polysaccharide polymer derived from corn starch. It is used as a thickening agent , rheology modifier in aqueous system, as a stabilizer for emulsions and suspensions.
Xanthan Gum is used in food and beverage industry including salad dressings, tomato based products, bakery filings, chocolate sauces, desserts, mayonnaise, cake mixes, toppings, egg white replacer, ice-cream, fruit juices, instant drinks, gluten free bread, cheese , yogurt, margarine and fruit preparations. It is also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, pet food additive, oil fields , agriculture and textiles
